If you’re travelling to Malaysia to see which countries are the best to retire cheap, you should definitely see this attraction. Here’s how to get there.

First take a LRT from KL Sental to the kommuter line. This will cost you $1 (35 rm). Super easy, the signs are large and in English.

Then get on the Kommuter line and take it to the Batu caves line $1 (35 rm).  I love how commuter is spelled with a K here.

The Kommuter line only runs every 45 minutes, so either plan accordingly with the mykl transit app or just hope and pray. Since you’re going to be seeing a big shrine, praying seems appropriate.

The Kommuter line is another air conditioned monorail system. The ride itself is really comfortable. Nice seats, and lots of leg room there’s no need to avoid it. I was debating taking an Uber since there were 3 of us. Don’t bother, the transit routes are great.

The ride itself is roughly 40 minutes. They’ll announce all the stops, so there’s no chance of missing your stop.

And just like that you’re there. Hello batu caves !
